So today I had my first meeting with a personal trainer at the gym. I'm not so sure about this chick, but I'll give it another meeting or two. After the preliminary weight analysis, etc (which I felt very shameful through, which I think was kind of exacerbated by how she approached it all), she put me through the paces of some ab exercises to strengthen my core. I'm supposed to do these every day and work up to 3 sets of each by next week. I will say, it did make me feel good when she finally said I was further along than she originally thought I'd be. I didn't really feel it at the time, in fact I went on to do TEN minutes on the elliptical (that's right, ten!!!) and then joined my workout buddy for a few minutes on the hip machines. But it started creeping in once I got home. I will likely be sore tomorrow.
Ok on to food. It was a decent enough day. I had a protein shake for breakfast. Then some almonds mid morning. Lunch was ravioli and some fritos. Before the gym, I had a pbj. And when we got home, I had a frozen Steamfresh thing, which was rotini, broccoli, and a cheese sauce. I was hungry and kinda low on cals so I added some more noodles to it. I'm ending my day at 2053 calories.
Workout, I did 10 min on the treadmill while waiting on my trainer. Spent 30 minutes with her. Then 10 min on the elliptical, and about 20 minutes on some of the machines.
Hey are you taking a liquid calcium magnesium supplement at bedtime? the calcium reduces the lactic acid build up in tired muscles (and thus, recover soreness), and I TOTALLY swear by it! During my running training season we get up to 12 and 13 (sometimes more) miles and I STILL have no muscle soreness! it's a miracle supplement,if there ever was one. It improves mood, digestion, and muscle cramps/restless leg syndrome, in addition to great muscle healing and recovery. I highly recommend it if you're not taking it already. Bluebonnet Liquid Calcium Citrate/Magnesium Citrate and D3. Dont' try other brands, they're gross. ;)
ReplyDeleteI will definitely check that out!!! I saw my trainer again last night and am limping today... Thanks!
